Life in Color

Last night, my husband said, “Your medicine must have kicked in, because it’s like a switch has been flipped.” This is coming from a guy who used to hate the idea of me being on antidepressants. Over the years, he’s seen that I do have a chemical imbalance that results in severe depression when not treated properly and responds well to the correct medical therapy.

I asked if he was relieved. He answered, “I’m happy. It’s so good to see your smiling face and hear your happy voice. For months, you’ve been so sad or sobbing when we talked on the phone.”

One of the things that has contributed to my wellness this week is that I’ve been helping the indoor floral department, creating beautiful floral arrangements for Valentine’s day. Garden season is just around the corner and I love being surrounded by all the bright flowers as I cashier outside, not to mention planting my own.

Writing is one of my passions. Most blog entries are relatively short articles regarding a wide variety of topics. I'm a middle-aged wife and mother of two adult sons. I've been a teacher, counselor, medical transcriptionist, student teacher supervisor, substitute teacher and retail clerk. Staying home now due to fibromyalgia. Seeking purpose.
