Writing About Life

addressing current topics, family, parenting, depression, anxiety, and fibromyalgia, changing the names of the innocent.

PARENT IS ALSO A VERB SERIES

This series of posts are sprinkled throughout my blog feed. Based on my education and, more importantly, the wide variety of encounters I’ve had with parents and children, these writings focus on active and appropriate parenting in an effort to raise a child to be a functioning, stable adult willing to be accountable, deal with consequences, and handle what life may bring (or where to go for help.)

Sara’s education: B.A. Ed; M.S. Blogging about a wide variety of topics on survivingsara.net.

CHRONIC ILLNESS

I suffered a wide variety of symptoms from age 14 that were not connected, explained, or effectively treated. It wasn’t until age 45 that I received an official diagnosis of fibromyalgia. Depression and anxiety have plagued me since age 30. The longstanding effect of these chronic illnesses has been cognitive decline which prompted a disability finding, as officials determined there are no jobs I can perform any longer.
