Having quit Twitter months ago, I miss having a place to go where I can post my thoughts and reactions that are, most likely, meaningless to others but may strike a chord with one or some. I joined Tribel but it’s not as conversational as X. So, despite not writing much for months, I decided to unlatch my ideas into the ether instead of keeping them bottled. Here we go…
I would never live in an HOA neighborhood after hearing many horror stories about persnickety enforcers selectively focusing on picayune rules.
One of the benefits of traveling is finding out you’re still you and people are still people no matter where you are.
When I was four-years-old I thought black construction paper would taste like black licorice. It didn’t, but it did cause my entire mouth to be filled with hives.
In early days, I worked in a telemarketing office selling magazines for three days. Telling a caller that you’re hanging up on them is a great kindness. Frequently, I’d be reading my script into silence for quite a while before asking, “Are you still there?” Most often, I’d learn the other party had hung up, no idea how long I’d carried on alone or, more awkward, the customer would be surprised or even offended, answering, “Yes!” Now, as soon as I get it’s a telemarketer on the other end of the line, I say cheerfully, “I’m going to hang up now. Please put me on your do not call list,” and end it immediately. Do those poor telemarketers a solid and tell them you’re out.
I read a lot of articles online and I’m noticing more written by AI. The stilted language and simple writing are giveaways as are absolute opinions included in the conclusion. I don’t like it.
What possible objection could Supreme Court justices have to a code of ethics?
